Barbara Sargent Obituary

Barbara Ann Sargent died peacefully with her family at her bedside in Klamath Falls on May 1, 2009 after Alzheimer stole the last few years of her life. A private family service of tribute and love was held May 2, 2009, at Eternal Hills Chapel.
Barbara was born in Brush, Colo., on June 7, 1931, one of five daughters born to Clark and Louise Brown. After spending a portion of her childhood in Denver her family relocated to Seattle. After graduating from high school, Barbara attended two years of college which enabled her to have a career as a bookkeeper. She married Norm Sargent in 1965 and shared her life with him until his death in 2007. Barbara was a gifted artist. She loved painting and creating with her hands. She also had a passion for the game of bingo. She and Norm both helped on bingo nights at the Senior Citizens Center.
In addition, they loved to travel and make frequent trips to Reno, Nev. Barbara spent her time keeping busy by volunteering in addition to working. She helped with the Wednesday's Child program in Klamath. She loved spending time with her family and was greatly loved by them. Barbara was described as sweet and feisty and fun to be with. She will be forever loved and remembered.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry Shepherd of Klamath Falls, sisters Betty Hofman of Missoula, Mont., Mary Hallenback, Moscow, Idaho; sister and brother-in-laws Shirely and Albert Culp of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; Dorothy and Howard Botts of Black Diamond, Wash.; grandchildren Machelle Maddox, Sandy and Mark Teeter, Laura and Roy Estep, Kelley Combs, Raymond and Tawyna Booke, Brett and Kimberly Shepherd; 10 great-grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to mention.
