Carroll Wayne Jones, age 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born July 26, 1935, in Ector, Texas, to Iowa and Naomi Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hoyt Jones and John Jones.
Carroll married Chloe Ann Mankin in her home town of Tyler, Texas in 1956. His early education was at Commerce College where he was Vice President of the student body. After one year of teaching, Mr. Jones switched paths and spent the next 40 years with the J.C. Penney Company, ending his career as the Manager of Geographic Markets.
After retiring from the retail industry, Carroll returned to his passion where he and Chloe have raised Angus Cattle in Ector for the last 21 years. He was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Bonham, was Director of the Fannin Soil and Water Conservation District, and a Master Mason in the Grand Lodge of Texas.
