MISSOULA, Mont.- Graveside funeral services for David Earl Allen will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 21 at DFW National Cemetery. Rev. Steve Rice will officiate, and funeral honors will be conducted by the US Marine Corp. Mr. Allen, 68, passed away Thursday, August 2 in Billings, MT.
David was born in Dallas, TX January 21, 1950. He served in the US Marine Corp for 4 years, including active duty in Vietnam. He loved Montana where he worked as a wildlife photographer and was an avid fisherman. David loved his family, but more than anything, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When he was a child, he visited his maternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Bill Harrod in Dallas, Texas. His grandfather told him about Jesus, and David accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. David never started a day without reading his Bible and spending time in prayer with his God. Written in his Bible, "God is the center of my life, I look to Him always!"
Mr. Allen is survived by his mother, Dorothy Mills of Sherman; sister, Patricia Garrison of Gulfport, FL; nieces, Angela Marie Garrison of Gulfport, Kay Garrison of Krum, TX, Carol Bowe of Wisconsin, and Vickie Crabtree of Mansfield, TX; nephew, Allen Zachary Garrison of Round Rock, TX; and great nephew, Clyde Garrison. He was preceded in death by his father, Billie Joe Allen.
