Don Langford, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, TX. He was born on March 24, 1938 in Dove Creek, CO to Levi Langford & Lila Morrison Langford. His parents moved to a farm in Cartwright, OK when he was a young boy. Don was the oldest of six children. He had a sister, and four brothers. He married Veta Nell Todd Langford on March 6, 2015. Veta & Don grew up in the same town and church. They were a Christian couple. He was proud of Veta and her three daughters and his two children. Don was a graduate of Colbert High School and in his earlier years worked at Murray Funeral Home, Durant, OK. Later in life he was a Building Contractor. As a boy he and several boys collected money for a piano when the church was built in Cartwright. He taught Sunday School Class as an older youth. He & Veta atended East Baptist Church in Denison, TX. He had many hobbies and interest including bird houses, gardening roses, which he would pick for Veta every day during the season. They spent many hours on the porch in the spring enjoying each others company. Their favorite place was the cabin in the mountains of OK and viewing the autumn leaves, drives in the winter to see the Christmas lights, feeding the ducks at the park and lake, family holidays and birthdays, all their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife; Veta Langford; his daughter; Millie & Husband Phillip Hix of Tahlequah, OK, his son; Marvin and wife Mary Hammond of Tahlequah, OK, Veta's children; Tammy & husband Buckley Brooks of Bromide, OK, Trena & husband Ronnie Wines of Colbert, OK, Tonda & husband Aaron Westmoreland of Cedar Hill, TX. Grandchildren; Levi Hix, Hue & Hannah Xiong, Sarah Hix, Jake & Emmy Holloway, Ellee Hammond, Julie Hammond, Kassaundra & Jeremiah Pierson, Chase & Tabi Brooks, Chealsie & Zach Zink, and Hunter Wines. Great-grandchildren; Ollie & Chloe Holloway, Adalyn, Elizabeth, Matthew & Owen Zink, Noah, Oliver & Rosalie Pierson. He is also survived by his sister; Sue Langford Stevens and numerous nieces and nephews. They are all Christian families, joined together as one family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Herbert and Thomas Langford, infant twin brothers and a grandchild; Chance Brooks. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, 2:00 P.M. American Funeral Service Chapel, Colbert, OK. Minister will be Brett Castle of East Baptist, with John Hammers serving as honorary minister. Interment will be a Garden of Memory Cemetery, Colbert, OK. Pallbearers will be Hue Xiong, Phillip Hix, Buckley Brooks, Ronnie Wines, Aaron Westmoreland, Chase Brooks and Hunter Wines. His wife, Veta, will sing a song, In the Garden, in remembrance of him. A special "Thank You" to TMC staff and for helpful neighbors during this trying time.
