James Blankenship Obituary

KEMP, Okla. - James Alvin Blankenship, 62, of Kemp, Okla. passed away Saturday night, Nov. 15, 2008 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
He was born June 20, 1946 in Liberty, Okla., son of the late Alvin Louis and Lois Walton Blankenship. He attended Kemp schools and was a longtime member of the Kemp Church of Christ. He was a lifelong Kemp, Okla. resident and married Phillis Richardson Dec. 30, 1965 in Denison.
He was in the Army Reserve from 1967 -1973 during the Vietnam War and was a Car man for Union Pacific Railroad for 23 years. He was also preceded in death by a baby brother and two sisters, Agnes Wester and Edna Knickle.
He is survived by his wife, Phillis Blankenship of the home, Kemp, Okla.; daughters, Amy Sinor and husband, Steve of Longview, Lora Stanglin and husband, Gary of Hendrix, Okla., and Christi Malone and husband, Marcus of Denison; grandchildren, Chance Sinor and wife, Brooke, Logan and Jorgia Sinor, Dakota and Madison Stanglin and Makynlee Malone; two sisters, Faye Reynolds of Denison, and Connie Stubbs of Colbert, Okla. Numerous nieces and nephews and his special running buddy Terry Terrell also survive.
Funeral services for James Blankenship will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 in the Kemp Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Speers officiating. Burial will follow in the Kemp Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his children and grandchildren.
Family night will be from 6 -8 p.m. Tuesday at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla.
