James Louis Cornelison Obituary
James Louis Cornelison, 65, of Denison, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018.
He was born on May 24th, 1953, son of the late Hester Gann and John Lewis Cornelison, in Bowie, Texas. He graduated from Grayson County College while working at Texas Instruments and later opened Cornelison Ribbon Company. After viewing the market trending away from printing ribbon, he sold his company and spent the remainder of his career in supervisor roles for several local manufacturing companies.
James had a passion for fishing, a hobby that he began very early in his youth. As he aged, he frequently shared a saying his mother used to tell him. "Fishing is God's way of providing us a little piece of heaven here on Earth."
Interestingly enough, in the last few years of his life, fishing became his second favorite thing to do. Fishing was quickly surpassed when he became a grandparent. Papa James loved his grandchildren. Whether he was seen bringing over dinner for family pizza night or at the soccer games cheering, his admiration for his grandkids was obvious. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Cornelison-Brown and Matt Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Merideth Cornelison, grandchildren, Reid, Rhyan, and Ethan; niece, Gail Hariman, and numerous extended family.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date, in accordance with his wishes.
