When my family left Peru escaping from terrorism back in 1986 Lieutenant Colonel Yaeger, and his great family, didn't think a second to help and open their home to them, I will never forget that, but one day while I was enjoying the weather in Kandahar, LTC Yaeger send me an email, to thank me for my service that was the greatest honor I got in my career. BRAVE RIFLES! SIR!

I have never gotten to know either of my grandpa's. It was a great service to me for Carl to accept me into his family the way he and his whole family did. He made me want to live a better life. When I saw what a wonderful person he really was. He is a compliment to his gender and a testimony to me that their are good men in this world. I have seen few and it was a privilege to know him. I love him and am sorry that his family must live without him till they to pass away.

Till the day he passed he called me arian Princess and hugged me when I was around him. He will always be a part of my life.

I love my Grandpa, he always wanted me to come sleep over and watch war movies with him and play Beach Heads on the computer with him. He always told me history stories about Hitler and all the wars that have been fought. He is a great grandpa and a good book writer. He has some of the best advice for me.

I am so sorry that I missed the funeral, I was flat on my bed, sick as a dog-nothing else would have kept me. I have so many fun memories of Uncle Carl. I never camped much as a child but I did camp in Idaho with Uncle Carl and I remember it being beautiful and hearing lots of animated stories. I also remember setting off fireworks with him - I won't say where. What you realize when you grow old is that when you have people like Uncle Carl and Aunt Virginia that have supported you through all the major events in your life: graduation, mission, marriage, babies, career decisions that is what really matters-that they were there.
I love you all and pray for your peace while you are mourning this temporary separation.

I am glad I was able to have you as my Dad. I was fortunate to have you as my Dad until my late 30's. And I am happy glad that you and Mom were able to celebrate your 50th Wedding Anniversary. I love you so much and can hardly wait to be with you for good.

Virginia,
Thanks to you for sharing Carl with so many. It has always been fun to have Oscar come home and tell me some of things he and Carl talked about. Then our visits together with both of you were always pleasant and memorable. You have truly been wonderful, uplifting and stimulating friends to us.
Thank you and we shall continue to keep in touch.

Tribute to Carl Yaeger
I have known Carl Yaeger for over twenty-five years as a respected collegue, a commrade in arms and a dear personal friend.
Carl is a natural teacher. He takes a personal interest in his students academic success and personal welfare. His two Masters Degrees, in Counseling & Guidance and Political Science give him the humanitarian and professional background along with his natural behavior to be a very effective teacher and well-liked and respected colleague Untold hundreds of students have been blessed by his influence.
While Carl and I started our military careers in the United States Air Force, Carl later found his opportunities in the United States Army. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Military Intelligence Branch of the Army. His academic research and dedicated interest in local, national and world wide terrorism won him respect and admiration nationally and world-wide. He has been a sought after lecturer and consultant in this area.
Through our professional, religious and family similar interests, we have shared many hours of stimulating converstations. Our friendship will go on eternally.
I have placed my comments in the present tense because of our shared belief in life eternal and our faith in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. While Carl's mortal remains rest in the Provo Cemetary, his spirit and soul are alive and well in Paradise.
And so Carl, this is not Goodbye, but Tell We Meet Again!

Carl:
Thank you so much for your friendship, your sense of humor, your devotion to God and country and your great love for your family. I so enjoyed our many chats together, especially our discussions on prophecy. You had such a great understanding of the world's problems. Thanks also for the help you gave to all in the Sunset 7th Branch. We know where you are and are sure you are already very busy. We will keep track of your beloved Virgina. We love you brother.

Carl Yaeger was one the first academics to recognize the dangers of international terrorism--30 years ago-- and to publicize the dangers. A good uncle, a good writer, and a true patriot. His wisdom and counsel will be sorely missed.

I never got to meet Carl (Bootsy) except for when I was a baby, which I don't remember... But, through the years I heard so much about him and spoke to him once on the phone a couple years ago. He was a very intelligent man and an inspiration. My grandmother was his big sister, and I hope that now they have reunited and have made peace with one another.

I have been very saddened by the loss of my uncle. He had always been my favorite uncle and I told him this several weeks before his death. The memories of his visits to my mother and I when we were alone in Connecticut and California, and the many trips he made to see us in Colorado will live on in my heart forever. I am thankful that we were able to reconnect the past 8 years and so enjoyed the interesting conversations that we had. I will miss you Uncle “Bootsie”.

Carl, you are a true American Patriot and I'm sure our Founding Fathers are proud and honored to have you with them.
God Bless Your Family. Carl, you made a difference.

My heart goes out to the family. I was able to meet this fantastic family back in 1979 when my roomate/friend and I lived in their basement apartment. I was very far from home and it was great to be a part of their loving family. I have kept in touch over the years and was so sad to hear the news of this great loss. My prayers are with all of you. Hugs to everyone.
All my love,

I will miss my Uncle Carl so much. I will miss his telephone calls asking how my family and I are doing and his caring for us. When I was in my teens and searching, he helped me to learn about the church. I will always remember his kindness, his great sense or humor, his crazy stories and his great love for his wife Virginia. I am thankful for his life and that I had the opportunity to know him. It is a great loss to many for Carl to go at this time. I first met him when he was dating Virginia as she was one of my very best friends in Arizona. He was a very bright and fun person who was filled with enthusiasm; he was handsome and in love with Virginia. I was lucky to be a bridsmaid at their wedding. They are one of the great couples that I have known. Virginia is still a great friends and we express love and sorrow to her and their wonderful children Scott, Christina, Pam and Doug and to the grandchildren.

I took a few courses from Professor Yeager while attending UVSC in the mid 1990's. He was a terrific teacher, with an ability to make his subjects interesting. He injected his personal experiences into his vast knowledge of the subjects he taught. His lectures were far from a mere regurgitation of the textbook. After taking his International Relations course at UV, I decided to major in this area while attending BYU. While I don't recall all of the professors that taught my college courses, I cannot forget Professor Yaeger. He made an impact on me. I express my heartfelt sympathies to his friends and family.
