Dear Grace & family,
I can't imagine what Springville will be like without Max. The two of you together have given so much service, especially at the Art Museum. You represent what makes Springville such a great place to live. The one thought I keep having is the wonderful reunion he and Diana must be having. I know you will carry on, Grace, with the great legacy you have both created.
Love,
Dianne (& Wally, too)

Dear Grace and Family,
I was saddened to hear of Max's passing. Jane and I have enjoyed our association with him and your family over the years. We appreciate all the contribuations he has made to the community. I regret I cannot attend Max's funeral. I am staying with my son, Dan and his wife in California. May you find comfort at this difficult time.

Dear Duane & Barbara,
I was sad to see your Dad in the paper this morning. He was in the hospital the same time as my son Casey (who is recovering quite well). It sounded like your Dad was doing better. Guess we just never know. You guys are in my thoughts.
Love,
Susan

We have lost a great patriot and friend. I first met Lieutenant Colonel Max Alleman in 1960 when I enlisted in Co C 1457th Engr Bn and he was the Battalion Commander. It was from him I learned that it was a diservice to the Army to make Infantrymen out of Engineer's because you reduce the army's ability to be 100% effective. In 1963-64 he commanded the 1457th Engr Bn in Operation Desert Strike near Kingman, Arizona, where a National Guard unit completed the construction of a M4T6 float bridge across the Colorado River hours ahead of our active duty counterparts. I also served in the 115th Engineer Group where Colonel Alleman was the Group Commander.
He was a great commander and leader.
I was also privileged to work with COL Alleman when he was the Quartermaster for the Timberline Program of the Utah National Parks Council with another great Scouter, Fred Erickson.
His humor and quick wit made both the military and scouting very interesting.
God Bless you Colonel. You will be missed. My sincere condolences to your family.
