Sterling Johnson Francom (73) passed away December 3, 2005, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born June 6, 1932, in Palmyra, Utah, to Marlyn Francom and Wanda Johnson Francom. He married Colleen Carter on June 6, 1952, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple.
Sterling was an officer in the Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge.
He spent his life serving others.
He is survived by his wife; son, Sterling Mark Francom; daughter, Kathy Ann Smith; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Cynthia Jill.
He loved hunting, fishing, repairing things, and being kind to everyone.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m.- Noon on December 7, 2005, at the LDS American Fork 7th Ward, 500 North 700 West, with funeral services, at Noon, at the same location.
We would like to express gratitude to the Huntsman Cancer Clinic, IHC Hospice staff, and all others who comforted him. He endured to the end with honor.
