Janice Rickman Seferos

Janice Rickman Seferos, 78, died May 31, 2011 at her home on Camano Island.
She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in communications and later received her teaching degree and taught at Mariner High School in Mukilteo. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity and was a past board member of the Women's University Club. After many years in Seattle, she and her husband Marv moved to Camano Island.
Once on Camano, Jan and Marv immediately adapted and fell in love with their new home and community. One of their dearest connections was the Camano Island Lutheran Church. After Marv's death, Jan remained very active in a variety of organizations. She was most recently the president of the Camano Island Country Club Association, and an active member of TOPS/KOPS. She played bridge regularly, participated in water aerobics, continued to substitute teach at local schools, and without a doubt was always involved in one community effort or another.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Marv; parents, Helen and Earl Rickman; and brother, Larry Rickman.
She is survived by son, Bill Davidson (Michelle Ashe); daughter, Sandra Sandoz; grandchildren, Tom and Keely Sandoz; step-children, Darren (Tina), Devin (Cherie) and Gena Seferos; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Camano Island Lutheran Church, 850 Heichel Rd., Camano Island on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 2 p.m.
