Alfred Liddiatt

Alfred Liddiatt was born May 11, 1933 in Regina, SK to Clifford and Laura Liddiatt and passed away on April 25, 2011 in Snohomish, WA.
He married his loving wife, Betty-Ann Soros, on November 30, 1963 in Des Plaines, IL. He retired from GTE (Verizon) after 26 years of devoted service. After retirement he went to work at Work Opportunities for five years. Alfred was a 42 year member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Everett. He enjoyed volunteering there especially as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, Monday Night Rosary Group, Legion of Mary, St. Vincent de Paul, Serra Club and the Everett Sausage Fest which he volunteered at for over 30 years. Alfred cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends, saying the rosary, playing cribbage, traveling to the family cabin at Birch Bay each Summer, crabbing and a good meal.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Betty-Ann Liddiatt; children, Laura (Keith), Nels (Tina) and Erik (Missy); sister, Pamela Bonthoux; special sister-in-law, Swanhild Solchany; grandchildren, Sarah, Andy, Sally, Grace, Madison and Markus. Alfred will also be deeply missed by his faithful canine companion of 13 years, Molly.
He was preceded in death by both parents; brother, David Liddiatt; and sister, Phyllis Liddiatt.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staffs at both Bethany at Pacific and Emeritus at Snohomish for the wonderful care and compassion they gave Alf in his final days.
A memorial mass celebrating Alfred's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2617 Cedar St., Everett. There will also be a rosary at the church commencing at 10:30 a.m.
