Anna Larson Obituary

January 12, 1931-July 11, 2015 Anna Marie (Rundstrom) Larson, child of God, eldest daughter of Reverend G.B. and Alice Rundstrom, born January 12, 1931, died July 11, 2015. After graduating from the Salem Academy in 1949 Anna Marie attend the Lutheran Bible Institute, after which she became the parish worker at Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. On August 11, 1956, she married Robert D. (Bob) Larson of Newman Grove, Nebraska, a recent Augsburg grad. In 1966 he joined the faculty of Seattle Pacific University. Anna Marie and Bob have three boys - Mark, Tim and Steve. As a working mother, Anna Marie had a full and active life. Work settings include the Treasurer's Office of The United Methodist Church (Seattle) and the Colonial Pantry Edmonds. Often on the move, they lived in Minneapolis, Salem, Seattle, Rock Island, Edmonds, Whidbey Island, and Everett. They took many trips to the Midwest and Southwest. They toured Scandinavia with the church choir and took a trip to Denmark to visit Anna Marie's family. Their most recent travel was to Sun Valley (jazz), Oregon (Willy Nelson), and San Francisco (opera). Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church Anna Marie grew in The Spirit through Sunday school, Bible camps, youth conventions and much more. In her teens she was a part of a ministry team in Salem Oregon, making lifelong friends. Always active, she taught Sunday school, confirmation, directed youth choirs, and served on boards including Open Door Ministry and of the Church Women. Anna Marie and Bob are prior members of Central Lutheran-Salem, First Lutheran of Richmond Beach, and Oak Harbor Lutheran Church. Her parents; a brother, Paul; a nephew, Kirk Rundstrom (of Kansas) and a niece, Kathi Goertzen (of KOMO), precede her in death. Surviving are her husband of 58 years; her three sons and their partners, Mark and Joseph, Tim and Gage, and Steve; her sisters and husbands, Irma and Don Goertzen, Alice and Charles Dahlen, Ruth and Larry Scott; a brother and wife, Bernard and Carolyn Rundstrom, several nieces and nephews and many more grandnieces and grandnephews. Anna Marie's passing from this life was as peaceful and beautiful as she. Following days of farewells, music, prayers and signs of love she left us. Although with dementia she continued to sing (hum) songs without missing a note. On her behalf, thank you Filipina, Rose, Tish, and Tim for years of loving homecare. Thank you Hospice, especially Pippa, for bring us through "the process". Thank you Mark for managing affairs. Thank you Steve, with whom we live and who was with Anna Marie at the end. Thank you Pastors Parks and Schaffert for you ministry. A public service of The Word and Music in Honor of Anna Marie will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett, Washington. Interment is at Washelli Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran College, Open Door Ministries or Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Thanks be The Lord for Grace and Life!
