Obituary

David Joseph Shore

David Joseph Shore passed away following an extended illness. He was a devoted and treasured husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He was born in Portland, OR on August 14, 1918 to David and Margaret Shore. Immediately following his graduation from the University of Washington in 1942, he married his high school sweetheart, Harriet Bryant. After a brief period of travel with the military, they settled in Seattle in 1946. They had four children. In 1955, they moved to Mukilteo where they lived in the family home until 1979. Upon retirement, Decatur Island became home for ten years, where they shared the joys of island life with family and friends.
Dave practiced dentistry for 45 years. He was dedicated to his profession and belonged to several study groups throughout his career ever advancing his dental stills which he so loved.
Dave's life was always full of family adventures which included extensive skiing, sailing on the Shor-e-nuff, camping and fishing trips and golf. He was very active at the Everett Golf and Country Club. From being a past president of the Washington State Golf Association to being recognized in 2008 with a perpetual trophy established in recognition to his putting expertise (and luck). These are examples of his love for golf and the associated fellowship.
Dave was preceded in death by the love of his life and best friend, Harriet. He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Peg Hollandsworth, Betty (Neil) Martinson, Dave (Blake) Shore and Bill (Julie) Shore; grandchildren, Jodie Bisenius, Karl, Paul and Peter Martinson, Brennan and Cassidy Shore and Amanda and Alex Shore; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Emily Bisenius. He also leaves his lifelong friend and business partner, George (Amy) Youngstrom; and extended family, Sharon (Bob) Richer, Sean (Mary Ann) Edwards and Greta, Elizabeth (Jen) Moran and Ashley, Ellie, Peyton, Ryan and Quincy.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Everett Golf and Country Club. Memorials may be made to Dolan Youth Golf c/o EGCC
