MSgt. Edward Brand, USMC Ret.

Edward Brand passed away at Colby Campus of Providence Everett on February 5, 2011 with family by his side.
He was born in San Francisco on March 19, 1934 to Bernard and Rose Brand. He served honorably in the USMC for over 23 years and seven more years as Inactive Reserve.
He was married to Alice Brand in 1957 and they had three children, Bernie, Debbie and Matt Brand. That marriage ended and in 1980, he married Elaine Quillen and became a proud stepfather to her children, Tim, Terri and Jeff Quillen.
Ed and Elaine enjoyed over 30 years of marriage and loved their travels together, including wintering in Arizona in their RV. Ed was very involved with his children and grandchildren in all their sports, coaching and encouraging all.
After retirement from the USMC, he became a Teamster and worked many years as a driver for Lee & Eastes Tanker Line in Seattle.
Ed was preceeded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Sheila.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his sons, Bernie Brand, Matt (Casey) Brand, Tim (Tamera) Quillen and Jeff (Suzi) Quillen; and daughters, Debbie (Dave) Hjortedal and Terri (Jeff) LaLone; along with grandchildren, Golden (Chad), Zach (Beth), Stephanie, Lakin, Jordan, Kristine, Kaitlynn, Kathleen, Cami, Riley, Josh and Jake; and three great-grandsons, Carter, Isaac and Levi. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and many close friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bayside Marine Building, 1111 Craftsman Way, Everett, WA 98201.
Memorials in his name may be made to Snohomish County Toys for Tots, 2711 Oakes Avenue, Everett, WA 98201, the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road, Everett, WA 98201 or to the charity of your choice.
