May 15, 1982 – August 25, 2017 Em's hard fought battle with cancer ended on August 25, 2017. She was 35. Emily spent her early years in Marysville, WA, where the tiny girl – with the big voice and impressive vocabulary – never met a stranger and charmed everyone she met. She graduated from Jackson High School in 2000, and went on to Puget Sound Christian College, where she picked up a pair of degrees and the love of her life, Daniel. She completed her education with a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology. Emily weathered life's numerous storms with courage, tenacity, her characteristic sharp wit, and boundless humor. She was a defier of odds, a pint-sized dynamo, who always had time for her people, and never said no to dessert. She loved cooking shows, zombies, and abnormal psychology. She was a gifted listener, vocal cheerleader, habitual singer, and a true beauty inside and out. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and an inspiration to many. Emily is survived by her husband, Daniel, son, Harrison; parents, Becci and Rob Willoughby and Clint and Wanda Knight, sister, Laura, and an extensive network of family and friends. She was dearly loved by all who knew her. A celebration of Emily's life will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 1:00 at Marysville Free Methodist Church (6715 Grove St., Marysville). In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Emily's name to Seattle Children's Orthopedics (https://giveto.seattlechildrens.org/changealife)

I had the privilege of meeting and knowing Emily through my job as being the medical assistant to Dr. Naini. She touched my heart from day one, although I am sure she never knew how deeply. I have prayed for her every single morning from the day I first met her, that she would sense God's presence throughout each day and He would watch over her, give her strength and peace, and that she would be able to not suffer so. I also prayed that God would send His angels to watch over her and give her, Daniel and Harrison support, comfort and Christian fellowship to ease their burdens and walk with them on this difficult path. I am so pleased to know that God heard and answered those prayers although not quite the way I had hoped. It is amazing to know that her faith was as strong as her amazing perseverance and courage! She fought the good fight, she ran the race and she received her eternal reward in Heaven. I am looking forward to seeing her one day and telling her how deeply she touched my heart and soul. I will continue to keep Daniel and Harrison in my prayers daily as her beautiful legacy lives on. I am richer today because of Emily's amazing example and courage. May God comfort you all in the days, weeks and years to come and may you stand proud knowing that Emily touched others in ways that changed this world and made it a more beautiful place. With all my love and prayers, Christina

I haven't seen Emily since she was a young girl. I remember babysitting her lots of times for our parents' bible studies. Emily always was full of spunk, humor, curiosity, and life. She always kept me on my toes. She looks exactly the same (just as cute) as when she was younger. My heart aches to hear of such a loss. I'm praying for all of her family and friends.

I remember Emily in her younger years when we were at EFMC. She was full of life and energy and made a positive impact on all those around her. She made the most of her life, and persevered through incredible challenges. There's no doubt that her light still shines for all who knew her.

I will always remember Emily's tenacious spirit from our time at PSCC. She had a light that shined no matter what her circumstances, and I hope she knows that she touched so many lives through, and even beyond, her own. Praying for comfort for her family in this time.

I have so many memories of Em. Seeing her in the hospital the day she was born, watching her crawl across the floor to me at the baby shower her mother gave for me, so many times she and Laura played with our girls, coming down the aisle at her dad's wedding, how beautiful she looked at her wedding reception and how happy she was at her baby shower. One of my favorite memories is of our retriever pulling her down the beach in her wheelchair when she was ten or eleven. She was having so much fun. Our thoughts and prayer are with you all and our hope is in the knowledge that we will see her again.
