Eugene Allen Rogoway

Eugene Allen Rogoway, longtime resident of Everett, WA, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 after a long illness. He was born September 20, 1943 in Vancouver, WA. Gene spent his youth growing up in Spokane, WA.
After graduating from high school, he began a career as a comedian and performed in clubs up and down the Pacific Coast. A true entrepreneur, Gene had various businesses, including a book store, produce stand, international shipping and comic book sales. Gene had an exceptionally persuasive manner and a charismatic personality. He enjoyed a good joke and never failed to have one tucked away to share with others.
Concerned about his son Michael's welfare, in April 2002, Gene founded All Aboard, a program for developmentally disabled adults. This innovative program grew quickly from three participants to presently over 300 and provides daily programs in art, music, cooking, bowling, reading and life skills. Gene's concern and affection for this "special community" has left a legacy that will continue for years to come.
He is survived by his son, Ari Rogoway of Puyallup, WA; step-son, Allan Waller of Ferndale, WA; daughter, Dodi Li Gulliet of Portland, OR; daughter, Becky Brewer of Snoqualmie, WA; "special" son, Michael Rogoway of Everett, WA; as well as six grandchildren.
Please join us in a celebration of Gene's life at Lago de Plata Villa Clubhouse, 620 112th Street SE, Everett, WA, on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Contact [email protected] for further information.
Memorials are suggested to All Aboard, P. O. Box 5281, Everett, WA 98206.
