Obituary

Gary L. Davis

Gary L. Davis, 73, of Everett and Lake Stevens passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 with his wife Kathy and family by his side. He was born in Wabeno-Soperton, WI on February 19, 1938 to Clyde and Bernice Davis.
He led a remarkable and full life, inspiring countless friends and family. He graduated from Everett High School in 1956 and went on to join SM Local 66 to become a Sheet Metal Worker. From this he established and built Evergreen State Sheet Metal, or Evergreen State Heat & AC. Gary also served in the Army National Guard, holding the rank of Warrant Officer. He was a talented musician working evenings throughout Snohomish County as a singer and guitarist in his country western band. He was a member of Everett Golf & CC, the Everett Elks, holding position of Chairman of the Board for 20 years, and a nationally awarded member of SMACNA Sheet Metal Association.
Gary and wife Kathy were able to retire at a young age and enjoy their passion for life. They built their vacation home on Lake Chelan where they spent countless summers with their family and Chelan friends, boating and snowmobiling. Fall was his traditional hunting expedition with his son and brothers while winters he and wife Kathy spent travelling in their motorhome. Most recently Gary's spare time was spent tinkering on his prized Antique Car Collection, coffee with his morning social group, and volunteering at the Everett Elks, where he managed the construction of their new facility.
Gary is survived by his children, Dale Davis (Evelyn), Darlene Salo (Ken), Sandy Clark (Tom), Shelly Thomas (Tim), Jeanne Davis and step-son, Justin Bashour (Deanna); brothers, Jim Davis (Joanne) and Mike Davis (Renee); 13 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and his wife and best friend, Kathy.
Preceding him in death are his mother and father, Clyde and Bernice Davis; favorite uncle Melvin and aunt Kathryn McEwen; and former wives, Eileen Hoggarth and Judy Livers.
Gary will be deeply missed and remembered as a driven business man, involved father, community leader, loving husband and charismatic person. As an individual he never sat still, he had places to go, people to see and things to do.
Please join us Tuesday June 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. for a celebration of his life at the Everett Elks Lodge, 2802 Hoyt, Everett, WA.
