Lovina M. Radi (Wentzel) Hoertrich

Lovina M. Radi (Wentzel) Hoertrich passed away peacefully in Stanwood, WA, February 14, 2011 at the age of 97. She was born in Fisher, MN, November 27, 1913. She graduated from Crookston High School and in 1936 was married to Ralph Wentzel, until his death in 1966. They moved their family to Kirkland, WA in 1948. They had two sons, Paul (Lila Pagel) and Alan (Nancy Askew); and one daughter, Linda Staunton Sharp.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Kirkland for many years. She married George Hoertrich of Fife, WA in 1977 and resided in Tacoma, WA until his death in 1991.
She was a very hard worker and spent many years at the old Kirkland Hospital. She retired from the Mercer Island Lumber Company. She always had a green thumb and could make things grow and flourish. She lived on her own and had a very healthy life until November, 2009 when she became a resident of the Josephine Home. The staff all came to love her and took very good care of her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary (Stehr) Radi; two brothers; five sisters; and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her three children; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many special and loved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrance memorials be sent to the Josephine Sunset Home, 9901 272nd Place NW, Stanwood, WA 98292.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA.
Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood.
