Mark Daniel Swierenga

Mark passed away on February 17, 2011 at the University of Washington Medical Center Seattle, WA, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on September 25, 1955 and died at the age of 55. Mark was born in Seattle, WA. He grew up and spent the majority of his life in Mountlake Terrace, WA. As a youth he played baseball and was involved in Boy Scouts. He had a passionate love of music, especially the Beatles. He loved to sing and played in a band.
Mark moved to Little Rock, AR, to be close to his two daughters, working as an Electrician for over 15 years.
He returned to the Seattle area for his cancer treatments, residing with his sister in Mukilteo, WA.
Mark will be remembered for his individuality, the spark in his eyes, his passion for living and the love in his heart for his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Swierenga.
He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Swierenga, Allyssa Young and infant granddaughter Jayla Cole of Little Rock, AR; mother, Alice Swierenga of Mukilteo, WA; brothers, Garry (Mary) Swierenga of Mountlake Terrace, WA; Dean (Diane) Swierenga of West Seattle, WA; sister, Carol Nelson of Mukilteo, WA; niece, Alicia Nelson, nephews, Niels Nelson and Leif (Ashley) Nelson; and his close friends.
Mark's Celebration of Life will be Friday, March 25th at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 23406 56th Ave W., Mountlake Terrace.
