Obituary

May 24, 1958-September 12, 2018 Patti Sue Soper-Roodzant, 60, of Marysville, WA, was taken from us Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in a tragic car accident. Born on May 24, 1958 to parents Les and Dorothy Soper, she was a life-long resident of Marysville, although she graduated from Everett High School in 1976. She began her career at the B&M and later transferred to the North Everett Safeway on Broadway where she became very involved in the Teamsters Union, serving as a Clerk and later a Shop Steward until she retired in 2016. Co-workers and customers alike admired her strong work ethic and genuine friendly nature. Many people waited in her line just to spend a few minutes chatting with her. Patti met her husband, Dennis, in 1983 and was instantly smitten. They were married in 1985 and just celebrated their 33rd anniversary this past May, a date they shared with her parents. Patti always put family first and lived for the annual elk hunting and camping trip to ElkDuck. She loved learning and was a creative soul. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, scrapbooking, the theater, and anything artistic. She also loved to play cards. She had a smile that could brighten an entire room, a smart sense of humor, and a contagious laugh. Her joyous personality was rooted in kindness and fun. Often times she'd show up with a small gift or trinket because she knew it was meaningful to the recipient. She was a genuine friend and will be sorely missed by all. Patti is preceded in death by her parents, Les and Dorothy Soper; her father-in-law, Arie Roodzant; brother-in-law, Tim Roodzant; nephew, Chase Roodzant; and, her precious puppy, Izzy. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Roodzant; her three children, Jessie (Isaac) McLellan, Roger Roodzant, and Vance (Chesney) Roodzant; her siblings, Leon (Leslie) Soper and Linda (Tom) St. Onge; her mother-in-law, Gus Roodzant; in-laws, Susan (Joel) Palm and Raul (Christy) Roodzant; her grandchildren, Kainoa and Kekoa McLellan; and, many nephews, nieces, friends, and her ElkDuck family. All are invited to attend Patti's Celebration of Life service at the Marysville Opera House on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made in Patti's honor to Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington, www.btrww.org.
