Obituary

Robert Boyd Sorensen

Robert Boyd Sorensen went to be with the Lord January 19, 2011.
Born February 23, 1923 to Borghild and Ralph H. Sorensen, of Edmonds, Washington, Robert graduated from Edmonds High School and the University of Washington. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy as a signalman on the USS Wells.
Bob and wife, Greta, settled for 30 years in Diablo, CA where they raised their two daughters, Heidi and Gretchen. Upon retirement from Chevron, he and Greta settled in Edmonds. Bob was a great outdoorsman. He loved to fish, ski, garden, play tennis and travel. In his later years, he enjoyed coffee with friends, his dinner group, attending performances at ECA and taking classes with CRI, but all these activities didn't compare to his joy of spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his sister, June Crump; brother, Ralph Sorensen; daughters, Heidi (Gary) Duncan of Calgary, Canada; Gretchen (Brian) Guillette of Tulsa, OK; his grandchildren, Greta and Blake Guillette; and Molly and Scott Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Sorensen; brother, Roy Sorensen; and sisters, Annabelle Sorensen Crow and Lillian Sorensen.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011, at North Sound Church, 404 Bell Street, Edmonds, WA.
