Robert Wayne Peart

Robert Wayne Peart, "Bob" passed away on February 20, 2011.
Bob was born on November 9, 1920, in Ogden, UT, to Lila and Robert Peart. The oldest of 11 children, Bob has several surviving brothers and sisters living in the Puget Sound area and Salt Lake City, UT.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Janet Niemeier, of Richmond, VA; his son, Tim Peart, of Lynnwood, WA; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
He was extremely proud of his family and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Bob was proud of his service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II (Pacific) and the Korean War and received numerous awards and commendations for his service. After his years in the Marine Corps Bob went on to a 25 year career as a Foreign Service Officer, working in U.S. embassies and consulates in the Far East. Bob and Betty traveled the world extensively and after retirement from Foreign Service, Bob lectured for various organizations. Bob was recruited as a guest enrichment lecturer on China by Royal Viking Cruise lines for their initial cruises to China in the 1980's.
Bob will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. with a service on May 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. Bob will receive full honors from the U.S. Marine Corps at the time of the funeral.
