Ruby Rose Armstrong

Ruby Armstrong was born May 23, 1929 in Oso, WA, the youngest of nine children of Frances Cleveland Schwab and James Edward Armstrong.
She passed away on March 22, 2011 in Everett WA.
Ruby graduated from Western Washington University. She retired from Catholic Community Services in Everett where she worked as the supervisor of the Independent Living Program. Ruby's passions in life were helping people and working in her garden. She earned her credentials as a Master Gardener and was a long-time member of the Garden City Grange in Snohomish.
Ruby was preceded in death by the "love of her life" Bill Toivonen.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Barton of Longview, WA; as well as her seven children, Cheri Hurn Thorton (Earl), Jeanette Hurn, Cliff Hurn (Janine), Jerry Hurn (Michelle), Mary Hurn Marshall (Dave), Judy Misich-Goozee (Kip), and Trish Misich Quintana (Stephen). Ruby adored her 16 grandchildren as well as her nine great-grandchildren.
The family wants to thank the staff of South Pointe, Amanda Johnson and Hospice Providence for the loving care they provided Ruby in her final illness.
A memorial will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at South Point Assisted Living, 10330 4th Avenue West in Everett.
