Sept. 2, 1939 - Dec. 11, 2017 Dan passed away suddenly on December 11, 2017 while bicycle riding with his group of friends. He was born September 2, 1939 to Michael and Lia O'Donnell. He was raised in Seattle, graduating from Lincoln High School, then from Central Washington University. He also served in the U.S. Army for three years. He worked as a masonry salesman, then as a distributor for his own business. He was in at the beginning of the youth soccer program in Snohomish County and loved coaching all three of his sons. He later played in the adult league, playing with the WYWAK. The team and wives had a great trip to the British Isles, playing a team in all the countries there. After suffering cardiac arrest, he turned to bicycling, forming a group of riders, one by one, to become the group he had at the end - The Big Shots. His grandsons were shining lights in his life. He and Ann spent many years watching Brian and Kyle in both youth leagues and high school, playing several sports, football being their favorite. The last five years they were at every home game in Ellensburg, tailgating and enjoying watching the boys play Wildcat football. Their youngest grandsons live in Idaho and when we visited, Dan loved to see them ride their bikes from beginning to being little hot shots. He enjoyed seeing videos of them skiing and showing these to his friends. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ann; his sons, whom he loved very much, Jeff (Tammy), Steve, Chris (Karoline); and his grandsons, Brian and Kyle, Finn and Axel. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike and Jim. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Shawn O'Donnell's American Grill and Irish Pub, 122 - 128th St SE, Everett, WA. Open House 12:00-4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to or Lymphoma/. "It's a beautiful day for a ride!"
