eleanor was such a sweet neighbor to us on the farm. and since she moved into town, i have so enjoyed our visits... of course now i wish i had stopped in more often. what a wonderful listener & teacher & role model she was. i look forward to seeing & spending time with eleanor in heaven -- i bet she hasn't stopped smiling since she arrived! her love for the Lord was so apparent. i will so miss her.

Mrs. Soetmelk was my 6th grade teacher at the old Beebeetown grade school which I attended from 1958 until 1963. She could be a little intimidating but I liked her honest, no nonsense attitude and I have always felt that I learned a lot from her. A few years after high school graduation, I ran into her at an auction when the middle school in Neola was sold, talked with her at length and found her to be warm, friendly and interested in what I had been doing - not intimidating at all. I will never forget her. My sincere condolences to her family.
