Barbara Walker Oswald, age 83, of Tega Cay, SC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2018. She was born on April 4, 1935, in Gainesville, GA. She was the daughter of the late George and Louise Walker.

Barbara was the founder and served as director of Tega Cay Christian School where she worked for 30 years. Her legacy has been fulfilled through the many generations of children who attended the preschool. She also helped organized and establish the Tega Cay Rescue Squad and was a volunteer EMT in this service.

Barbara is survived by nine children: Chip Harris, of Fort Mill, SC; Jenny Harris Gore (Carl), of Tega Cay, SC; Michael Harris, of Greenville, SC; David Harris of Summerfield, NC; Beverly Harris Spisak, of Tega Cay, SC; Lynn Harris Wheeler, of Rio Rancho, NM; Todd Oswald (Patti), of Charlotte, NC; Mark Oswald (Michelle), of Lake Wylie, SC; and Jane Oswald (Joe) Fleming, of Ft. Myers, FL; as well as fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and her sister, Beverly Walker Pease, of Decatur, GA. Barbara was preceded in death by her late husband, Marvin David Oswald.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 11:00 AM at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC, with Reverend Barry Yates officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
