Edna Jane Winston Mangum, 90, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion. She was born in Durham to the late Samuel Franklin Winston and Annie Lee Bowling Winston.

Mrs. Mangum was a member of Braggtown Baptist Church. She was involved with teaching the 4- & - year-old Sunday school class, Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Mangum was a PTA volunteer and a room mother.

Mrs. Mangum is survived by her husband of 71 years, Samuel Bruce Mangum; daughters, Dianne Hill (Eddie), Debbie Loflin (Aaron); sons, Denny Mangum (Debra), David Mangum (Katherine); grandchildren, Jonathan Hill (Stacy), Brian Hill, Brandon Loflin, Dillon Mangum (Aubrey), Grant Mangum, Will Mangum; great-grandchildren, Jed Hill, Andrew Hill, Tyler Hill; sister-in-law, Winki Mangum Watkins; and nephews, Mike Watkins & Terry Watkins (Lisa). Mrs. Mangum was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family & friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 11th at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12th at Braggtown Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Burmahl officiating. Burial will follow the service at Maplewood Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Providing Loving Care and especially caregivers Evonda and Mellonie for their loving care and support. Also, a special thanks for the care given by the staff at Duke Health @ Hock Family Pavilion.
