Janet Ilene Mills of Sarasota, Florida passed away on April 28, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. Mills, Jr. and Helen Black Mills. She is survived by numerous cousins including Carolyn McFarland (Lawrence) Young, Norma McFarland (Donald) Forgrave, and Charles (Georgia) McFarland, Christopher (Brenda) Forgrave, Bruce (Angela) Forgrave, James (Christina) Forgrave, Sharon (Michael) Fox, Pamela (Michael) Farino, Deborah Young and Betty Piper.
Janet was born in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospital Dietetics/Institutional Management. She later entered the Masters Degree program at Central Michigan University with a major in Management and Supervision.
After working for many years in St. Luke's Hospital, Saginaw, Michigan as a Dietetics Director, she realized that her snow shovel didn't fit her hand anymore and moved to Sarasota where she worked for the State of Florida as a Registered Dietitian for the Agency for Health Care Administration. Janet loved her time with her lunch bunch and pets, plants, and flowers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aravilla of Sarasota and the staff of Charlene Proeger, Proeger & Associates, Barbara Levison for their loving care. There will be private graveside services in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to Cat Depot of Sarasota, 2542 17th Street, Sarasota, FL 34234.
