Charles E. Miles Obituary
In the early afternoon of January 8, 2019, Charles (Chuck) Edward Miles closed his beautiful blue eyes for the last time. It was a life well and fully lived. He passed at Tidewell Hospice, Inc. in Bradenton Florida, at the age of 77 after a brief illness. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marilynn Miles; loving sons, Richard Thomas (Michelle) Miles and Steven Charles (Gale) Miles; adored grandsons, Thomas Charles Miles and Nathan Richard Miles and his grandpuppy, Squirt. Love of family was of utmost importance in Chuck’s life. He had the extraordinary blessing of spending the last several weeks of his life with his family, celebrating life and each other. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1941 to Virgil and Adeline Miles. Chuck excelled as a youth in a variety of sports-football, basketball, baseball and track and field. Fishing from his boat, appropriately named “The Happy Man”, bowling, playing golf, watching an inordinate amount of football on TV and enjoying twice weekly pool, were his adult sports interests. After spending 36 years as a designer at the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, Chuck retired to Bradenton, Florida with his wife, Mariynn, where they thoroughly enjoyed the last 20 years as dedicated snowbirds, returning to Grosse Ile, Michigan for the summer months. In addition to a lifetime of supporting and encouraging his son’s endeavors, following his grandson’s activities, and traveling extensively with his wife and family, Chuck also perfected the recipe for a perfect Manhattan. Not only was it a life well lived, it was a life well loved. Chuck will be missed by his family and many, many friends. Cheers, Charlie! A Celebration of Chuck’s blessed life will be planned for later in the year. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, Florida 34238. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34207 is in charge of arrangements. Condolences to:www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
