Clyde Francis Mariotti, of Sarasota, passed away at the age of 85. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1954 he married Patricia Zytniowski and they had three sons. Clyde spent more than 45 years in active fire service in the city of Chicago, including 12 years as Chief of Training at the Chicago Fire Academy and then eight as Chief of the Tri-State Fire Protection District. Clyde was a past President of the DuPage County Fire Chiefs Association, a member of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and a life member of the Chicago Fireman's American Legion Post No. 667. He was an Eagle Scout and spent many years volunteering with Boy Scout Troop No. 406 in Chicago. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia and is survived by his wife Shirley Boyle, his sons Duane (Westminster, CA), Leonard and his wife Susan (Springfield, Mass.) and David and his wife Michele (Oak Lawn, IL), nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A private burial is scheduled at the Sarasota National Cemetery, facilitated by Toale Brothers Funeral Home.
