Lillian E. June, in the loving arms of her husband, passed away to be with the Lord on October 9th. She was the second of four daughters of Martha and Jack Shear, formerly of South River, NJ. She studied the keyboard from an early age, and continued playing piano and organ throughout her life. She was also a valuable lifelong member of church choirs everywhere she lived. Lil graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University, earning honors and a Phi Beta Kappa key as an English major. She worked as a piano teacher, and in the Cherry Hill, NJ school system where the family lived for many years as a tutor of special education, gaining great success teaching children who needed additional help.
Lillian was known for her great writing skills, her determination to stay focused on a problem until solved, and her care for others. She is survived by her husband Elmer June of Venice, FL, and her children, Valerie Kratunis (John) and their sons Paul and Peter of Hockessin, DE, Timothy June of Blacksburg, VA (Marsha) and their children Elizabeth and Benjamin, and Dr. Emily J. June (Timothy Ryan, Esquire) and their daughter June of Venice, FL. She is also survived by her three sisters, Selma Parker (George) and Norma Lynch, both of Naples FL, and Jacqueline Mako (Bob) of Jacksonville, FL, their children and their families, and cousins.
There will be a memorial service at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4365 Rt 776, Venice, FL on Sunday, October 14th at 3 pm.
