Terry Alan Hurst, 68, passed away November 20, 2020. He was born September 24, 1952 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Ruth (Myers) Hurst. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased in death by his nephew Michael Hurst.
Terry was a 1970 graduate of Lampert Strasburg High School. He then graduated from the Electrical Technology School of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Terry came to Sarasota in 1979 from Lancaster. He retired in 2018 after 39 and a half years from L3 Communications as a Chief Repair Inspector for aviation records. He was attended The Tabernacle Church and could speak several languages including Portuguese, French, German and English. He loved music and could play the guitar, banjo and flute. He could also sing very well. Trips in his RV, camping, kayaking, cooking and baking were fun for him as well. He loved to travel. He visited Brazil 6 times, Europe 3 times, and Paris where he was an interpreter. Terry's real passions were riding motorcycles and shooting at the Sarasota Gun Club. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association and the NRA.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 26 years, Marlene; brothers, Bobby Hurst of Lancaster, PA; Randy Hurst of Harrisburg, PA; and Kenny Hurst of Lititz, PA; nephew, Ron; niece, Cissy; great nephews, Timothy and his wife Deidre, Jay, Trevor and Kayden.
