Longtime resident of Sarasota, John W. Snyder, 72, died on 11 January 2021. He was a watch and clockmaker and business owner in Sarasota for 50 years. Mr. Snyder was born in Sunbury, PA, to James Wilson and Ann Elizabeth Cook Snyder. He graduated Carson Long Institute and Bowman's Technical School, both in PA. He was a Life Member of The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute, Florida Watch & Clockmakers Association, and National Association of Watch & Collectors, Inc. Mr. Snyder was a member of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He is survived by sisters, Sallie Rosal of Verona, NJ; Elizabeth Reed of Bradenton, FL; Marilyn Dellaripa of Scottsdale, AZ; one brother, James Snyder of Selinsgrove, PA; and, five nieces and nephews.
