Bruce Kenneth Waibel


Bruce Kenneth Waibel, 45, Sarasota, died Sept. 2, 2003. He was born July 9, 1958, in Livingston, N.J., and came to Sarasota in 1972 from Long Valley, N.J. He was a professional musician and guitar player who played for Gregg Allman, FireHouse, Dickey Betts and Greg Southern, as well as numerous bands throughout the U.S. and Europe. Survivors include his mother, Betty of South Charleston, Ohio; his father, Kenneth of Sarasota; a daughter, Kimmerly of Atlanta; sons Max of Sarasota and Dameon; sisters Donna of Budd Lake, N.J. and Crissy of Virginia; brothers Rick of South Charleston, Jeff of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., Wayne of Virginia, Keith of Arizona, Kenneth E. and Joey, both of Sarasota, and Walt of Delaware, N.J.; and a grandchild. A memorial service will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Pop's Sunset Lounge on Albee Rd. in Nokomis. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter, is in charge.
