Herbert Palmer Lee, 95, beloved brother of Fredrick A. Lee, left this life Nov. 13, in Sarasota.
He is survived by his brother and nephews Mark T. and Rick Lee. Herb studied at Yale School of Art and the Art Students League of New York. A member of the C.C.C. and W.P.A., Herb worked on many post office murals throughout Pennsylvania.
He was wounded in service to his country at Iwo Jima during World War II.
A prolific artist, he worked in dozens of media, including oils, water colors, sculpture, reproduction of antique canons, etc. Much of his work was sold to former presidents of the United States, such as Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy. He also owned the York Art Center in York, Pa.
He is predeceased by his wife, Louise, and two sons, Charles and Zachary. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at The Pines of Sarasota, "Culler's Hall," 1501 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236.

Went to elementary school with his son Chuck in York,PA. Went to his art shop in York a lot and going to lunch. Painted the trim on his home in 1968. He was a good guy and always willing to have a conversation .

Herb was a Great Friend, A true Inspiration, A Magnificent Artist, and a Very Kind Soul. He Lived in this World for 95 Years, and it was now His Time to go home. I will Miss him Greatly....
