Bernard Vinick Obituary

Bernard "Buster" Vinick of Sarasota, Florida passed away on his 95th birthday, May 14th, 2013.
He was born in Hartford, CT and lived in the area until he retired in 2005 to The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch.
After completion of army service in 1946, Buster became one of the first professional Interior Designers to specialize in the institutional and commercial sector and became a leader in the field. He was the Founder and President of Bernard Vinick Associates, and also served as the President of The American Institute of Interior Design (ASID), as well as the International Federation of Interior Designers (IFI). In 1986, he was awarded the "Chevalier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" in Paris by the French Minister of Culture.
He is survived by his wife Martha, his two sons, Avrum and Thomas Vinick and a daughter, Zoe Vinick-Chates. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Aleah and Devora Vinick; Timothy, Nicholas and Patrick Vinick; Ariel and Jonah Chates; and his nieces, Barbara Kraisman and Sandra Osborn and nephew, David Osborn.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Buster's honor from 1:30-3 PM on May 16th at The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Glenridge Employee Appreciation Fund or The Bernard Vinick International Scholarship at The University of Hartford.
