Dollard, Yvonne
Feb. 24, 1922 - Sep. 3, 2016

Yvonne Chauveau Dollard died on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at home at the age of 94. Yvonne Chauveau was born in Washington, DC. An early decision to follow a career in classical singing was realized when Yvonne Chauveau became a soloist with the San Francisco Opera Company, making her debut in 1949 with Kirsten Flagstad. Along with six seasons in that company, there were other appearances at the Boston Opera Company and light opera companies in this country and Canada. Ms. Yvonne Chauveau was married to Martyn Green, the internationally famous D’Oyly Carte Opera star and players opposite him in numerous Gilbert and Sullivan productions. Their marriage ended in Green’s death in 1975. Yvonne later married Frank Dollard, now deceased. Widowed, Ms. Dollard’s activities after coming to Sarasota in 1993, included volunteer work for Theatre Works, Sarasota Music Archive and La Musica. There will be no services but memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Sarasota County. http://www.hssc.org.

May Yvonne rest in peace. She had a long interesting, talented life and thankfully her last years were in relative comfort in a beautiful community with lovely friends. A special thanks to her devoted friend Donna!
