Bruce Edward Keisling passed peacefully on February 20, 2017 at 69 years of age in Gainesville, Georgia. Bruce was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He grew up in the suburbs of Carnegie and Mt. Lebanon where he graduated from Mt Lebanon High School in 1965. He attended Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio.
At age 16, he began a career in radio broadcasting under the talent name of "Bruce Edwards" in Washington, PA (WJPA),and later Mt. Vernon-Ohio (WMVO). For over a decade he was known as the "Voice" of Tradeo on the Radio. His career included Naples-Florida (WNOG), Raleigh-North Carolina, Baton Rouge-Louisiana (KAJUN), returning to Florida. Bruce was an avid NASCAR fan, and throughout his radio career, he was the announcer for many local stock car races. Bruce and Wendy opened a mortgage company in Port Charlotte, Florida. After retirement they moved to Clarkesville, Georgia.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy C. Keisling, of Clarkesville, GA formerly of Naples and Venice, Florida, his son Bruce H. Keisling of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Step son Dawayne Skinner and wife Lisa, Clarkesville, Georgia, Sister Sally I Keisling of Lansing, Michigan. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Elizabeth Keisling of Fort Myers, and Sabrina, Joseph and Christian, loving sister-in-law Mollie Nelson, nieces and nephews and a host of long-time friends. He was predeceased by his parents, G. Herbert and Irene S. Keisling of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Bruce was a Fourth Degree Mason.
Visitation will be held Saturday Feb 25, 2017 from 2:30-4:00 at Toale Brothers Funeral Home. Colonial Chapel, 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota. A funeral and Masonic service will be at 4:00PM to follow at the funeral home. Entombment will be 10:00 AM Monday Feb 27, 2017 at Sarasota Memorial Park.
