Duane Wagner, 76, of Jackson passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at home surrounded by loving family.

Duane was born in Eureka, MI August 22, 1937 to Ward and Beulah (Rice) Wagner. He graduated from Laingsburg High School, joined the Army in 1956. Upon honorable discharge he entered MSU where he earned his Bachelor's degree and went on to become a CPA. A resident of Jackson for 35 years, he was a member of North Jackson Lions Club and First United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed golf, family, and sports, especially MSU football and basketball. Upon retirement, he loved spending winters in Arizona.
He is survived by Elaine, his wife of 56 years, four children, David (Janie), Robert (Fran), Kelly (Peter) Spencer, Eric (Roxann) and 11 grandchildren Stephanie (Christopher) Reid, Christina, Katherine, Sarah Spencer, Benjamin Spencer, Emily Spencer, Marianne Funk, Catherine Funk, Joseph Funk and one great grandson William Reid. Also survived by brothers Donald of Laingsburg and Larry (Pam) of Arizona and sister-in-law Dorothy of Laingsburg and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by brothers Eugene and Floyd. Cremation rites were accorded and a visitation will be held at Wetherby Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. and also at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on December 30, 2013. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Eric Beck officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to First United Methodist Church or North Jackson Lions Club.

Chris and I are so sorry to hear of Duane's passing. I, too, remember him from YS&B and the early years of Rehmann Robson. He was a kind and caring man, and I know he will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him...
