William Doyle (Bill) Gailey
Layton, UT - William Doyle Gailey, 72, died on Sept. 25, 2013 peacefully of natural causes. Bill was born on July 12, 1941 in Tremonton, UT. to Max and Martha Gailey. Bill was one of 11 children. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. He later enlisted in the US Air Force and served for four years from 1959 until 1963. He was honorably discharged.
Bill married Beverly Joan Reddick in 1972 in North Logan, later the marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS temple. Together they had 3 children, Jason, Sheila and Michael.
Bill worked all of his life as a master electrician. He worked for various companies in Alaska and Utah. He worked for Nucor Steel and lastly Logan Regional Hospital before retiring.
Bill was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. He loved being a Home Teacher. He faithfully served in the temple (Logan and Ogden) until his health declined.
Bill loved to dance. He attended dances every week in Ogden and that is where he met the last love of his life, Shirley Ann. They were married on August 6, 2009. The resided in Layton.
Bill is survived by his wife Shirley. His sister, Linda Leatherow (Layton); Jim Gailey (Centerville); and 2 half-sibling. His three children, Jason Weber(Ember), Eagle Mountain; Sheila Mitchell (Don), Herriman; Michael Weber (JuliAnn) Smithfield; 2 step children- Jim Allen, Layton; and Christy Pennington (Earl) , West Virginia. Bill has 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brothers and one sister.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 3:00pm at the LDS Church house, 202 West 1675 North, Layton UT.
