I still think about Brennan from time to time, even though I never knew him. His story touched me so deeply. I will never forget where I was when I heard the news of his passing. My husband and I were in Costa Rica with friends on holiday. Our son had been serving at the time in Guam on his mission, so I too was a missionary mom. I remember feeling instantly ill. I couldn't even finish my dinner. I said a prayer in my heart for Brennan's family there at the dinner table. For the rest of my trip his story stayed close to my heart, and I haven't forgotten it. When I went to pick my boy up from the airport after he returned from Guam, I thought about Brennan and his family. It is so hard to understand in this life why tragedies happen the way they do. But one thing I know for sure is that Brennan is doing important work on the other side. My heart and prayers are still with his family. I think about them often. May Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost continue to lift you up during this difficult time. Please know others think about you and Brennan even though you are strangers. We love you.

To the family of Brennan Conrad,
I just want to send you my deepest sympathy
and condolences. I'll never forget where I was when I heard about your son's accident. I was in a restaurant in the middle of Costa Rica, having dinner when I heard the news, and I just lost my appetite, and started to cry right then and there. I didn't know your son, but I'm also the mother of a missionary, who is currently serving in Micronesia Guam, and so I feel as though I have some understanding of what you must be going through. I have been praying for you ever since. I truly believe that God has a plan for each one of us. Even if we can't understand it here in this mortal journey. I know that your son will forever be by your side until you see him again. Please know how much you are in our hearts and thoughts. We love you,
The latimer family from Spanish Fork Utah.
