LOGAN - Lionel Jack Freeman passed away peacefully Jan. 25, 2009, at the age of 86.
He was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Lionel Onie and Mary Rowberry Freeman. He married Sara Anderson Nov. 6, 1943, in Alameda, Calif.
He graduated from Rich High School in Randolph, Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist mate from 1943 to 1946. He was the owner of Freeman's Kitchen Café in Logan, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Anderson Freeman and five children, Jackie (Rick) Lehnhardt of Ogden, Utah, Gary (Lou) Freeman of Layton, Utah, Scott (Shauna) Freeman of Hyrum, Utah, Brent (LaNette) Freeman of S. Weber, Utah, and Joan (Murlyn) Orner of Layton, Utah; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Monte Freeman of Logan, Utah, Dixon Freeman of Tacoma, Wash., Larry Freeman of S. Weber, UT; and Lee of Pead, Idaho; and one sister, Barbara Jacobson of Hurricane, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and two grandsons, Justin Freeman and Lionel Corey Francis.
Jack received a doctorate in humor from Freeman University.

Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 28, 2009, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 29, 2009, prior to services at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street in Logan, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 29, 2009. A graveside service will follow at Logan City Cemetery.
