Anne Louise Uniacke(1933 - 2015)

Anne Louise Uniacke, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away February 21, 2015 at the age of 81 at Jenner's Pond Retirement Community in Jennersville, PA with family and friends around her. She was a longtime resident of Hockessin, DE and was born November 27, 1933 to the late Alexander Wright and Mary Magee of Chester, PA.

Anne went to St. Roberts in Chester, PA and graduated in from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA; an all-girls school; in 1950. She went to work at E.I. Dupont in 1950 where she met her husband Jerry Uniacke. They were engaged in September 1951 and married Chester, PA at St. Robert's Church May 31, 1952. The couple moved to five different cities before returning to Hockessin, DE in 1971.

Anne was a devoted Catholic and served in many organizations at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church over 30 years, including the Lazarus committee, CYO, the Christmas Bazaar, and was a lay minister. She also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital and participated in the Cursillo Movement.

Anne is survived by her husband Jerry; and her sister Mrs. Toni Coverdale of Brookhaven, PA. She was the beloved mother of Rev. Neil Uniacke and his wife Katy of Peach Bottom, PA; Dr. Brian Uniacke and his wife Dr. Beverley Uniacke of Mechanicsburg, PA; Mrs. Mary Anne Rasnake and her husband Ken, of Rising Sun, MD; Ms. Nancy Uniacke of Wilmington, DE; Mr. Lee Uniacke and his wife Shari Weiser of Larkspur, CA; Mr. Martin Uniacke and his wife Beth of Boothwyn, PA; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and nieces Brigid DiNicola and Noel Evans.

Predeceased by her beloved mother Mary (né Magee) DiNicola, step-father Mr. Ernie DiNicola, sister Ms. Shelly DiNicola, sisters-in-law Mrs. Barbara Sheehan and her husband, Joseph, of West Roxbury, MA, and Mrs. Mary Gisleson, and her husband Harold of Oxford, MA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 14th at 11AM, at St. Mary's of the Assumption, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE., with a light luncheon to follow in the Church Hall. Burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ashland, DE, will be at a later date.
