Leslie (Dale) Winter age 85 of Saugatuck died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Holland Community Hospital.
Dale was active in the Saugatuck School system teaching, coaching basketball, past athletic director as well as driver education instructor.
Dale was also an instructor in the co-op trade program building homes in the Holland, Saugatuck and Douglas area.
He was a former Lions Club member, member of the First Congregational Church of Saugatuck and was also a member of the Butler Street Boys Club.
For years Dale served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Saugatuck Township Fire Dept.
Dale is preceded in death by his wife Edith Winter in 2013.
He is survived by his children, Bruce (Alicia) Winter of Mahomet, IL.,Jane (Gregory) Clark of Peoria IL., William (Kathryn) Winter of Saugatuck, Robert (Stephanie) Winter of Parchment; grandchildren, Erin, Allison (Matthew) Crapse, Nathan, Alex, Garrett, William, Maggie Sue, Lucas; as well as a sister, Ioma Adams of Markesan, Wisc.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 A.M. at Community Church of Douglas, 6780 Wiley Rd., Douglas, MI. with Rev.s Dan Miller and Bruce Vander Kolk officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery.
Friends may greet the family Friday 5-8 at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd St. Holland.
Memorial gifts may be given to Saugatuck Scholarship Foundation or Saugatuck- Douglas District Library.

Dale was a dear man who always had time to talk. I enjoyed him coming into the office. It was very obvious he enjoyed people. He will be missed.
