Robert Vorbroker Obituary
Born in 1928 to Catherine Lorenz and Clifford Vorbroker in Detroit, MI, Bob grew up in Detroit where he excelled at sports as a youth. He served in the U.S. Army post-WWII including a tour of duty in the Philippines. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked at the Detroit Times and Detroit News followed by many years of faithful service at McNaughton-McKay Electric Company in Madison Heights, MI. Upon retirement Bob relocated to Punta Gorda, FL where he eventually began working at the local Walmart until ill health forced him to leave his job at the age of 91.
Preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Galvin) Vorbroker, he is survived by his children, Sharon (Richard) Hodder of Lathrup Village, MI and Robert J. Vorbroker of Winston-Salem, NC, and his grandchildren Bridgette Brozovic and Michael (Emily) Brozovic.
A private memorial service will be held at Mt. Elliott Cemetery in Detroit, MI in the near future. Donations in Bob's memory may be sent to the Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center or a charity of your choice.
