Norma Gray Obituary

Gray

Norma G. of Brighton, Norma G. Gray, age 83, a longtime resident of Brighton, Michigan passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. She was born in Ogden, Utah on September 23, 1933 where she lived until 1953 when she moved with her husband Ron to Detroit, Michigan. Her passion was her family and her four children, Anne Seery, John Gray, Susan Longfield and Scott Gray. The family moved to Burlington, Iowa in 1976 where her children finished their schooling and Norma found her new creative calling, watercolor painting. She was active in both the Fort Madison and Burlington, Iowa Art Guilds. She returned to Brighton, Michigan where she continued and expanded her art career with her election to the prestigious National Watercolor Society and the co-founding of the Brighton Art Guild. She also shared her love of painting by giving numerous workshops in her studio. Norma was honored by her peers and the Brighton Community with the naming of the Norma Gray Gallery at the Brighton District Library. Her art now graces many homes and businesses around the country. Norma is survived by her husband, her four children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was married to her beloved husband Ronald for 63 years. A memorial service will be held on May 26th from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 31450 W. 6 Mile Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48152. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution payable to the "Norma Gray Scholarship Fund" in care of The Brighton Art Guild P.O. Box 65, Brighton, Michigan 48116.
