Bobby Allen Cook, 80 of Hitchcock, Texas passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Mainland Medical Center Hospital in Texas City, Texas.
Bobby was born January 27, 1933 in Amma, West Virginia, the son of Clarence Edward Cook and Maggie Elizabeth Pettit Cook. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Cook was a resident of Hitchcock for eleven years and formerly of Houston. Bobby was a member of the Elks Lodge 151 of Houston, John Mitchell Masonic Lodge 1401 AF & AM of Hitchcock, the El Mina Shrine and All Saints Episcopal Church in Hitchcock, Texas. Bobby was auto salesman at Sterling McCall Acura of Houston. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years Jewell Cook, his mother Maggie Elizabeth Cook Burkhalter, father Clarence Edward Cook and sister Jacqueline Cook Profitt.
Bobby is survived by his wife Dolly M. Cook of Hitchcock, Texas; daughter Cheryl Baker-Quinn and husband Frank Quinn of Pasadena, Texas; one son Michael Cook and wife Regina of Clearwater, Florida; two step-daughters Vicki Monteau of Friendswood, Texas, Lezlie Monteau Cruz and husband Arthur Cruz, Jr. of Friendswood, Texas; step-son George Monteau, Jr. and wife Jeana of Houston, Texas; brother Blaine Cook and sister-in-law Alene of Winterhaven, Florida; eight grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home, 401 Texas Ave. La Marque, Texas. There will be a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home under the auspices of the John Mitchell Masonic Lodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 14, 2013 at the Sugar Grove Church of Christ at 11600 West Airport, Stafford, Texas, with Mark Howell, officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Shriner Children's Hospital.
