Dear Fleming Family, it is still very difficult to believe that someone as wonderful as Michael is not in this world anymore. He added so much in so many ways, mainly just by being himself. I am grateful to have known him and many of his family members. I was closest to Michael's sister Siobhan and his cousin Sean. We worked together and hung out together a lot. I knew his mother and I was blessed to meet Natalie and his children when they were growing up. I think of those days often, as I miss those three especially, Michael, Siobhan, and Sean. I will never forget Michael, and I am grateful that I knew him and was able to see what a wonderful man he was. With love and respect, Carol Jamail McAliley

As the 4th anniversary of Michael's passing approaches, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge his family, Natalie and his now grown kids, as well as his immediate family of siblings, and of course, his cousin Sean, as close as a brother to Michael. I hope all of Michael's family are healthy and happy. Of course he would want that. I miss Siobhan and Sean as well as Michael, as we all became close at the store on Kirby Drive, where I got to know them all when we worked there together. I have many wonderful memories that I call on often. I will always sign this guest book, out of remembrance and respect for Michael and his entire family. Love to all, Carol Jamail McAliley

I think of the entire Fleming family, not just today, but very often. I am grateful that I knew Michael and had the opportunity to be at the same place when he, Siobhan, and Sean all worked at my family's grocery store. It was a privilege to call Michael a co-worker, but most importantly, a friend. The same goes for Siobhan and Sean. I miss them all every day. Love always, Carol

Dear Fleming Family, I have thought about you all over the past year many times. I miss you, and it's hard to imagine this life without Michael in it. I know if I miss him as much as I do, it must be much more difficult for his wife and children, and brothers, sisters, mother, and cousins, as well as his friends. I wish I could have been there to celebrate his life with everyone else. Please know that I will never forget what a special person Michael was. I am grateful that I had the chance to work with him and two of his closest relatives, his sister Siobhan and his cousin Sean. The three of them were an asset to our grocery store on Kirby Drive, and I was lucky and blessed to be able to call them my friends. I miss all three of them very much. Michael's final resting place is also where both of my parents are, my father being Michael's former employer, and my dad had great respect for Michael. My young daughter was also laid to rest there, too. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Michael's family and friends as the one year anniversary of his untimely passing approaches. I know what it feels like from my own losses, and I will be praying for comfort and peace for his loved ones, as well as the joy that the many memories of his life can bring. With sincerity, respect, sympathy, and love, Carol

The week I found out that Michael Fleming passed away, through a letter which Claire sent to my Mum, and I was completely shocked to hear the news.
I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to Michael's wife and children, and to the greater Fleming family.
Michael lived a few doors away from me growing up and I will always remember him as the boy who taught me how to ride a bike. His father was my father's best friend, and we lived on the same block in Vancouver. Many long, and carefree summer days were spent at the Fleming's house where we rode bikes, threw stink bombs (from a downtown store called "Crack a Joke "), played monopoly, crawled into the 'moon room' under the house, lit aerosols on fire, listened to comedy records in the living room, and grossed each other out with Dr. Fleming's skin disorder and plastic surgery magazines.
Michael was kind and responsible, and I know my Mum was always happy to know we were going to the local park (near's Joe's grocery ) with Michael, Siobhan and Bruno.
My family has so many fond memories of Michael, and I am truly sorry for the loss his family is now facing.
Please accept my deepest sympathy,
Sian Pitman - a far northern neighbour

Dear Mrs. Fleming and family, I just found out that your wonderful son, Michael, passed away a week after his birthday. I am truly shocked and extremely saddened by the fact that someone as wonderful as Michael is no longer on this earth. I have known the Fleming family, especially Michael and Siobhan, for over 35 years, and I love them. Michael and Siobhan and their cousin Sean Tracey worked with us at my family's store, Jim Jamail and Sons, in the 1980s, and all 3 of them were assets to the business, and along the way we became good friends, and I admired and respected them. We had some wonderful times together outside of work as well. Even that long ago, the 3 of them were already talking abd planning for their future, and they were all set on becoming attorneys, which they did. Michael, his lovely wife, Natalie, and his children were just a precious family when I met them after Michael and Siobhan's father passed away and I went to Michael's home after Mr. Fleming's service. Michael was a very special person in so many ways, and anyone who was fortunate enough to know him would agree. I would love to come to the memorial mass when it can be arranged. Please know, Mrs. Fleming, Siobhan, and I have to say Sean as well, because those 3 were more like siblings than cousins, that you are all in my thoughts, prayers, and heart during this time, and I hope to be able to see you, Siobhan, I love you and miss you very much. May God bless your entire family and give you all the peace and comfort that you need. Sincerely and with love, Carol Jamail Mcaliley

We were shocked and saddened to hear about Michaels death. We were looking forward to many future evenings sitting with you all on your patio hearing about the Fleming family history from Michael, talking about all things Ireland and eating Michaels deep fried Brussels sprouts. We will be with you all in spirit today as we remotely attend the funeral. We send you all of our love, prayers and support.

We were all in shock and disbelief when we heard about Michael. He was always so welcoming whenever we would visit, a real sense of Irish hospitality. I was looking forward to future visits, sitting on the patio, hearing more about the Fleming family history and eating his deep fried brussel sprouts. With Gods grace we'll all be together again.

Requiescat in pace, Michael.
I know the St. Arnolds is flowing in heaven these days. In fact, I bet you are having the patron saint of brewing himself pour you a beer as youre surrounded by all the Flemings and Eccles and finally getting answers to those genealogy questions you had (William B. Fleming wasnt born in Mahoonagh was he? I told you!). As you watch over Natalie and the kids, if you can, please send me a sign and tell me where Forrest Fenns treasure was found and what he meant in that poem with the hints? I promise I wont tell Stafford.

At certain crucial moments in my life, when I needed clear thinking, wisdom and counsel, it was my friend Michael Fleming who quietly but eloquently lit the path. He had my back. His counsel was as tender as it was profound and correct. It is the quality of interaction rather than the quantity that sometimes make certain friendships deep and abiding. I will miss you, Michael Fleming, as my life has been deeply blessed by you. See you in Heaven!

I knew Mike when he was a young criminal defense lawyer and he practiced with his brother Harry. They were the nicest down to earth young men. They were both excellent lawyers and I always liked talking to them on cases .They owned a hot dog stand on Richmond Avenue which I used to love going to. It was amazing when he was elected County Attorney at only 33. That was a great accomplishment. He became a civil lawyer and our paths only crossed several times the past 20 years, but he still had the same beautiful smile and way about him. RIP Michael.

Michael and I spent the majority of our toddler years ( ages 1 through 6) at our home in Vancouver, Canada. We watched re-runs of the Dick Van Dyke show, Underdog, and Gilligans Island. During summers, we played together with our neighborhood friends, took swimming lessons together and made many trips - along with Bruno our familys German shepherd- down the block to Buds the local candy store and then often headed across the street to the beach. Into adulthood, Michael was always kind, loyal and unselfishly available to listen when I or my husband and children needed to bend his ear to receive advice or anything at all. We are all very shocked and extremely saddened at his unnecessary death. Like our brother Jimmy in 2017, Michael died in the prime of his life. We know our Dad Joe, our brother Jimmy, Nana, & all of our grandparents are receiving him into heaven.
