Eddie Scurry Obituary

MRS. EDDIE B. SCURRY was born April 8, 1934 in Washington, Texas. Eddie went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2004 in a local hospital. She was a cosmetologist specializing in nail care. Her sweet spirit, warm smile and kind deeds will be missed by all who knew her. Eddie is survived by her daughter, Alfretta Hicks; a son, Kevin (Sharon) Scurry; sister, Mildred (Harold) Gregory; grandchildren, Tyressia, Rashad and Kiera and many nieces, nephews, clients, friends and church members. A very special "Thank You" to the St. Stephen Baptist Church, Dr. Ann Smith-Barnes, Dr. John Farmer and the staff at Ben Taub General Hospital and Quentin Measc Community Hospital. Wake Services for Eddie will be held Friday, February 6, 2004, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Both services will be held at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 170 Rittenhouse. Pastor Paul D. Landrew, Officiating. Interment- Houston Memorial Gardens.

I had the pleasure of meeting your wonderful mother a couple of years ago.Ms. Scurry was a woman that always carried a smile and had encouraging words for everyone she encountered.
