Charlotte Sim Obituary

MRS. CHARLOTTE C. SIM, NÉE KING, returned to her heavenly Father on Monday, June 5, 2006. She was 100, having enjoyed a life filled with the Lord's blessing. Born in Swatow, China, she graduated from St. Stephen's Girls' College in Hong Kong at the age of 15. She married Mr. George H. Sim and they had four sons and a daughter, Alfred, William, Charles, Victor and Eva. She worked as the managing director of George Sim Manufacturing Co. She actively served the Lord as superintendent of the Child Care and trustee of Emmanuel Church. In the past 30 years, she divided her time between her children's families, primarily in Houston and Mississauga. She enjoyed the many blessings of family and friends, especially with her sixteen grand children, seventeen great-grand children, and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband and her eldest son Alfred Y. Sim. She will be greatly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry C. and Margaret King of Santa Ana, California. She will always be cherished and honored by her daughter-in-law Nita Sim; her son William Y. Sim and his wife Serena of Houston, Texas; her son Charles Sim and his wife Annie of Mississauga, ON, Canada; her son Victor Y. Sim and his wife Rose of Venice, FL; her daughter Eva Sim Chan and her husband Franklin K. Chan of Houston, Texas; and their families. Visitation will be on Friday, June 16, 2006, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. A memorial service will also take place in Canada at the Lorne Park Baptist Church in Mississauga, Ontario on July 9, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. If you wish, remembrances can be sent in honor of Mrs. Charlotte C. Sim to the Hope Clinic of Asian American Health Coalition, 9800 Town Park, Suite 266, Houston, Texas 77036, the American Cancer Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
